Mor Gabriel (Deyrulumur) Monastery is the oldest surviving Syriac Orthodox monastery in the world. It is located within the boundaries of Güngören village in the Midyat district of Mardin province, on the Turabdin plateau, known as the homeland of the Syriacs.
