Construction of the Isparta Museum began in 1971 and was completed in 1984. The museum opened to visitors on March 6, 1985. The museum building underwent extensive renovations in 1997. Following the renovations, the exhibition and display arrangements were renewed, and the museum reopened to the public in 2002. The Isparta Museum's exhibition halls are divided into three main sections: the Archaeology Hall, the Ethnography Hall, and the Carpet Hall. In 2014, the Isparta Museum was closed to visitors for restoration; subsequent inspections determined it was structurally unsound and vulnerable to earthquakes, leading to its demolition. Today, the 360 Virtual Tour of the Isparta Museum, which serves as an archive, allows visitors to virtually explore the city's historical artifacts and cultural heritage, thanks to footage taken in 2008.
