The Hagia Sophia Museum, now known as the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, is a historic structure located in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. Built in 537 by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I and converted into a mosque in 1453 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, it is a masterpiece of architectural history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
