Anzac Cove is the place Australians know best at Gallipoli. Despite the dawn landings spreading 750 meters along the beach, the soldiers of the ANZAC Corps landed at Anzac Cove during the rest of April 25, 1915. They were immediately sent inland to the famous locations of the Anzac Zone along the Second Ridge – Bloody Ridge, Courtney Position, Bomb Ridge, and Neck. By the afternoon of April 25, the beach was full of wounded from the fierce fighting along these ridges. That day, an estimated 2,000 wounded were evacuated from Anzac Cove, while other wounded awaited evacuation from the battlefield.
Bee Point Cemetery
Located at the northern end of Anzac Cove, right on the seafront, the cemetery is known to contain the graves of 151 Australians, 35 New Zealanders, 27 British, and one Maltese soldier. The location of the cemetery corresponds to the point where the Australians first landed.
