The mausoleum, which had been built for his mother Isas by Mithradates the Second, King of Commagene, existing at the entry of Adıyaman-Kahta on the South-west of National Park, has been called as Karakus Tumulus due to the eagle over a column.
Although there had been four columns each of the east, west and South sides, presently there are two columns on the east, one column each on west and South. There are leon and eagle sculptures over the east column, handclasp stele over the column on the west and parts of leon sculpture on the ground.
Karakus Tumulus that has been determined as the entrance point of Mount Nemrut, is within National Park Protection Area.
