Former Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Yasar Yakis, and former Governor of Duzce Halil Nimetoglu visited Caykoy, a village in the Golyaka district of Duzce, on June 3, 2006. They attended a meeting of the village elders committees and expressed their support for the "Disarmament Campaign" launched in the region. The meeting, convened by the village elders according to customs and traditions, addressed the issue of preventing the firing of weapons at Circassian and Abaza village weddings, which has resulted in accidental deaths and injuries.
