Located in the Gölyaka district of Düzce province, Kardüz Plateau is 48 km from Düzce city center and 28 km from Gölyaka district center. Situated at an altitude of 1,830 meters above sea level, the plateau covers an area of approximately 180 hectares. Kardüz Plateau was declared a "Cultural and Tourism Protection and Development Area" by a decision of the Council of Ministers in 2013.
As one of the highest points in Düzce, Kardüz Plateau is considered to have significant potential for winter tourism. Although natural factors such as the effect of wind and the fact that snow does not remain for long periods on the ridges exist, it is believed that various winter sports can be practiced on the plateau during the winter months. In addition, many activities such as jeep safari, photo safari, mountain biking, trekking, and camping can be undertaken for nature enthusiasts.
