Kartalkaya, located on the Koroğlu Mountains in Bolu at an altitude of 1850–2220 meters, is one of Turkiye's most important ski resorts. It is 38 km from Bolu, approximately 180 km (2–2.5 hours) from Ankara, and about 3 hours from Istanbul. Kartalkaya Ski Center has more than 18 ski slopes with a total length exceeding 40 kilometers, as well as mechanical facilities such as chairlifts and ski lifts. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, various winter activities such as sledding and snowmobile tours can be enjoyed. Important accommodation facilities such as Dorukkaya, Kaya Palazzo, Golden Key, and Kartal Hotel serve the region.
