Ravanda Castle, located near Belenözü village in Polateli district of Kilis province, is 24 kilometers from the Kilis city center.
Information about Ravanda Castle, based on printed sources, dates back to the 11th century and the Crusades of that period. The castle, frequently mentioned from 1097 onwards, became associated with Baudouin, who participated in the First Crusade, and gradually gained fame.
Used by various principalities and states (Seljuk, Artukid, Ayyubid, Mamluk/Kölemen) from the 12th century to the beginning of the 16th century, Ravanda Castle passed into the hands of the Ottoman Empire after 1516.
Referred to as "er-Ravendan" in Islamic sources, "Ravendel/Ravandal/Ravenel" in Crusader sources, and "Aréventen" in Armenian sources, the fortress was used as a garrison by all the principalities and states that dominated the region throughout history.
Ravanda Castle is built on a high, conical hill with a wide view, and the slopes of the hill are steep enough to prevent access. All the structures belonging to the castle are located on the plateau at the summit, which is surrounded by water. The walls, angular and semi-circular towers, the water cistern, and the remains of what is believed to be a very large structure are the main architectural features that remain of the castle today.

Sign inRavanda Kalesi artık yıkılmaktan kurtuldu ancak yeterli değil, Mihrabı bulunan duvarındaki arap harfleriyle yazılı tek yazıtı olan yazıyı mescidin duvarından sökülmüş ancak tamir anında yerine konulmamıştır. yazıtı jandarmanın aldığı söylenmiş ancak nerede olduğu bilinmemektedir, Mescid çokta büyük değildir kısa bir güdük minare ve tavanın yarısı açık olan kısmına küçük bir kubbede yapılıp,az bir masrafla failiyete geçirilebilir kaleyy gezmeye gelenlerin için öncelikle failiyete geçirilmelidir
