Bediüzzaman Said Nursi lived in this house for approximately seven years, until his passing in 1953. He resided on the upper floor of the house together with his students. In 1960, while critically ill, he set out on his final journey from Isparta to Sanliurfa and passed away in Urfa on March 23, 1960. He was temporarily laid to rest in the cemetery at Balikligol.
