In the Cizre district of Şırnak province, there is a tomb believed to belong to the Prophet Noah in the basement of the Noah's Ark Mosque. This structure, one of the oldest tombs in Anatolia, has been described as belonging to the Prophet Noah by Ibn al-Asin Firuzabadi of Cizre, Evliya Çelebi, Abu Bakr al-Halawi, and Berasus of Babylon.
The tomb is reached after passing through a long and narrow section in the basement, which is accessed by stairs on the south side of the Noah's Ark Mosque. A wooden sarcophagus rests on top of the tomb. The tomb and the mosque above it have been restored by the Noah's Ark Construction and Preservation Association.
