Mount Nemrut, the intersection point of the Eastern and Western Civilizations over a magnificent pyramid with the height of 2150 m, the eight wonders of the world, has been included in the UNESCO World Culture Heritages, with its challenging sculptures, up to the heights of ten meters, with its epigraphs for meters length.
Mount Nemrut has been one of the significant National Parks of the country with the artifacts of Kingdom of Commagene. The huge sculptures and tumulus, Arsameia, Ancient Kahta Castle (New Castle), Karakus Tumulus and Cendere Bridge at Mount of Nemrut have been included within the boundaries of National Park.
During the time course that had begun through the finding of the first Assyria monuments by a German highway engineer in 188, an epigraph in Ancient Greek language had been found and through the analysis of this epigraph, Kingdom of Commagene had been revealed. These studies had been carried out at Arsameia, Samsat and Euphrates River Valley, other than Mount of Nemrut. The removable artifacts, found during the digs at the region, have been kept at the museums; the others have been taken under preservation within National Park Area.
